Marquetry and Veneer
Crumlin College of Further Education (CDETB)
Students will learn the basics of Marquetry through a mainly practical course in which they will undertake a small detailed project. Some theory will be taught including Design, Drawing,
History behind its development, Tools used, Techniques, Finishes and Health & Safety. Students will learn how to use the tools needed (safely) and the correct techniques involved in producing a piece of Marquetry. Anyone interested in Arts & Crafts, Antique Furniture, Woodwork in general should consider trying out Marquetry. There will be a materials fee of €30 payable directly to the teacher.
